Pointers How to Play Electronic Organs Without Any Formal Training

Compared to traditional pianos, electronic organs are an instrument of their own. Some people might think that if you know how to play the piano, you would instantly be skilled at playing an electronic organ. Though there might be a grain of truth in this, it isnít always necessarily correct in all instances. As most adept players can tell you, the pedal work of the electronic organ is quite different from that of a piano. You might struggle in this aspect at first, but donít let this stop you from enjoying the experience.

If you have no idea about playing this musical instrument, you can sign up for classes to your local music instructor. You might also like to teach yourself how to play if you would rather have all the convenience of self-learning. Aside from being convenient for you, it would also save you a lot of money from getting professional lessons. Besides, many of the best players did not take formal lessons, too. Your family and friends might find it a nice surprise once they learn that you are already a great player of this instrument.

The first thing you should do is to find a good electronic organ to use. Most models are cheaper than a lot of pianos so you wonít have a hard time finding the perfect unit for you. Given that you would rather avoid buying first, you simply have to find an electronic organ that you can use regularly. The best option is to rent from a shop or an acquaintance of yours. If you are serious and wants to develop more of your playing skills, you should really consider getting one even if it is a used model already.

If you already know the basics of playing an instrument, you should also get a method book that is made to specifically teach you how to play using electronic organs. To make sure that you would not get bored from the musical pieces you practice on, get material that contains a genre or a time period you are interested in. Aside from the method book, purchase some recorded music too. You will learn faster and more effectively if you keep hearing the proper way how it should be played.
